Marize Ibrahim, MSc, PT, CSLT, graduated from the University of Toronto with a Bachelor of Kinesiology and Physical Education and attained a Master of Science in Physical Therapy from McGill University. Marize is a member of the Professional Order of Physiotherapy of Quebec, (OPPQ), the Canadian Physiotherapy Association (CPA), and is an executive oncology division team member with the CPA. Her current expertise in Oncology Rehabilitation stems from her passion for sport and physical exercise.
Contributing to the growing body of evidence based practices, Marize is actively involved in clinical research projects based at the Jewish General Hospital with a focus on developing and evaluating health interventions for promoting rehabilitation for breast cancer survivors and the young adult oncology population. She is a co-coordinator of the Oncology Rehabilitation course offered through the School of Physical and Occupation Therapy at McGill University and has taught continuing education courses offered through the OPPQ and CPA.
As a physical therapist with a firm belief in continued education to improve patient outcomes, Marize is a licensed Lymphedema Therapist, Bone Fit Trained Specialist through Osteoporosis Canada and has specialized training in movement system imbalance. She also is a licensed Lymphedema Aquatic Therapist. In her spare time, Marize is a Canadian National Paralympic Medical Swimming Classifier who volunteers with an incredible and inspiring group of Canadian para-swimming athletes across the country.
